Truro & Penwith College is widely respected as one of the best tertiary colleges in the country, bringing together sixth form and further education. In 2019 the South West Institute of Technology was granted Government approval for a brand new £7 million technology facility to be opened at the Truro campus incorporating, specialist welding facilities, CNC machinery, engineering workshops, electronic & digital laboratories and a collection of learning spaces. The new, state of the art facility was part of a national network of technology-focused teaching hubs.
